The Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies at the University of Wrocław wishes to appoint a full-time postdoctoral researcher in the research project „Democracy in pandemic times: towards a decline or a new form of representative democracy? (PANDEMO)” funded by the National Science Centre, NCN.
The overall goal of the project is to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic affected representative democracy at the national and European level. More specifically, the project analyses the influence of the pandemic on legislative, scrutiny and representative powers of parliaments (national and the EP).
Main duties:
- To undertake individual and collaborative research leading to international quality publications within the thematic focus of the research project
- To actively contribute to planning, organisation and management of research tasks
- To participate in dissemination of research results
Personal specification:
- A PhD in Politics or closely related discipline
- Prior research record (or interest) in legislative studies (national parliaments and/or EP)
- A good record of publications
- Excellent knowledge of English
- The ability to work both in a team and independently
Knowledge of Polish is not required. The post holder should have a doctorate awarded by a different university than the one at which the position is being offered (NCN requirement regarding postdoctoral positions).
