The Willy Brandt Centrum for German and European Studies at Wrocław University calls for applications for the Polish-German doctoral seminar


Recruitment requirements:

  • Finished postgraduate studies in one of the following fields: Political science, history, Germanic philology, sociology, international relations, politology, law and economics
  • Knowledge of Polish and German (knowledge may be deepened in the correspondent language courses)
  • Readiness to participate actively in the organized doctoral studies

 

Recruitment procedure

  • Upon admission of a candidate to the doctoral seminar is decided by a special recruitment commission that is composed of at least two examiners teaching in the seminar
  • The decision for admission is based upon a screening of the application and a qualification interview (about 30 min)

 

In the course of the qualification interview, the members of the recruitment commission will pay particular attention to:

  • Qualification in the profession
  • Feasibility of the doctoral project
  • Capacity for team work
  • Willingness to participate and cooperate in the events and activities of the college
  • Required documents
  • People interested in participation in the Polish-German seminar submit the following documents:
  • Application for admission
  • Personal questionnaire
  • Original or certified copy of the master diploma (with at least the mark "good")
  • Appraisal of the master thesis supervisor (or of another independent scientist) about the suitability for scientific work, if possible a list of publications
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Doctoral dissertation topic, outline of work and project plan, particularly regarding preparations made ​​/ Sketch of the dissertation project including a time and work schedule (4-6 pages)
  • Photograph
